By the Grace of G-d
Erev Lag B’Omer, 5749
Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mr. Ari Perelman
Greeting and Blessing:
Thank you very much for your letter of May 18th, and for your thoughtfulness in sending me a copy of the May, 1989 issue of Institutional Investor. It is good to know that the business community recognizes your achievement in the world of business and finance.
Significantly, the above reached me today, Erev Lag B’Omer. As you know, Lag B'Omer recalls the life and work of one of our greatest Sages of all ages, Rabbi Shimon Ben Yochei, whose teachings abound in the Talmud. He is particularly noted as author of the Zohar, wherein the hidden inner aspects of Torah are revealed. The Zohar is the source and basis also of the teachings of Chassidus in general, and of Chabad in particular - revealing also the unlimited inner potential qualities which every Jew possesses by virtue of the soul's constant attachment to its Source Above - qualities that emerge and comes to light and life through Torah and Torah-related activity in everyday life.
May HaShem grant you continued Hatzlocho in actualizing your vast potentials and in utilizing the opportunities the Divine Providence sends your way.
I recall with pleasure your visit, together with your son Yehuda, on the occasion of my recent birthday. It being before Pesach, we talked about "Questions” and "Answers,” and that in partnership, and with the help of HaShem, we can answer many questions. We have, indeed, answered some and, hopefully, will answer many more. I thank you for your part in this partnership, a "part" which - as in true partnership - is more than a slice of the whole, but actually a share in the whole.
Again, with prayerful wishes to you and yours for Hatzlocho in all your endeavors, and
With personal regards and blessing
M. Schneerson
On the 11th of Nissan, Mr. Perlman went by the Rebbe for Sunday Dollars along with his son. The Rebbe asked the child if he had prepared the 4 questions to ask his father, to which he answered in the affirmative. The Rebbe then turned to Mr. Perlman and asked if he too had the answers prepared, to which he said yes. The Rebbe continued: “May G-d Almighty bless you to have good news. . . to answer all the questions of all the city”. He thanked the Rebbe and said “I’ll try. Together we will do that”. The Rebbe replied - “The main thing is that we have the main partner – G-d Almighty”.
