The whole world was created for the Jewish People. We do not need to be afraid of the nations of the world. The reason why we follow the laws of the non-Jewish governments in the countries that we live in is because G-d decided that we should do so during the exile, not because we are afraid of them! “The law of the government is the law” regarding taxes etc., but not in matters of Torah and Mitzvos, including Jewish customs!
The kindnesses that we receive from the good non-Jewish nations – for which we need to thank them – are actually kindnesses of G-d, given through them. We do not depend on their kindness. The Jewish nation lasts forever because we are G-d’s nation, and He is eternal.
