It is said regarding one of the Gedolim that in his old age his physician told him: “You’re living on miracles.” And with the biggest smile, the tzaddik replied, “And you as well!” He was telling his doctor, are you telling me news? We’re all living on miracles... old, young, three years old, one hundred years old... This is the avodah: to understand and to remember that we’re all living on miracles. The tzaddik was telling his doctor: The difference between you and me is that I recognize it and you don’t!
The Kedushas Levi says—and this is the yesod of everything we have said here: If you need a miracle, meditate upon the fact that the Ribbono shel Olam conducts His world. Not that He will necessarily do what you want—but that He does what He wants. Remember that you’re truly living on miracles—but it is no different from what you’ve experienced until now. You always lived on miracles. You have only been presented with the opportunity to recognize it now.
