Animals Want to be Fed by Hashem:
The pasuk in Tehillim (104:21) states: “The young lions roar after their prey and to request their food from Hashem.” The Tiferes Shlomo zy”a (quoted in Sefer Ohel Shlomo, Ois 21) explains that lions have a complaint against Hashem. They ask Him why he created them in a way that they constantly have to hunt and kill. They would rather be like a cow, who eats grass and hay. Thus, the pasuk is saying that they roar about their prey, meaning that they complain about the fact that they have to hunt and kill their prey. They further cry that they would prefer to request their food directly from Hashem, and to eat things that he causes to grow, rather than to hunt.
