שמות יב,ב : הַחֹדֶש הַזֶה לָכֶם רֹאש חֳדָשִים רִ אשוֹן הוּא לָכֶם לְחָדְשֵי הַשָנָה:
This Pasuk is in triplicate, comments the Baal haTurim. The word חדשChodesh (or a derivative of it) occurs three times, and what's more, between each time there are three words. This teaches us: (a) that Nissan is the head of the months regarding three things - kings, months and Yomim-Tovim (see opening Mishnah of Rosh Hashanah); and (b) that Kiddush haChodesh requires three Dayanim.
The Gematriyah of "Chodesh" is equivalent to that of 'liregolim' (for Yomim-Tovim); "lachem" contains the same letters as 'Melech', and 'Nissan' shares the same Gematriyah as 'liMelachim'.
