Normally, the journey from Canaan to Charan takes weeks, yet Eliezer, servant of Rabbi Avraham, arrived in Charan just a short time after leaving Canaan.

“It was HaShem’s doing,” claimed Mr. Eliezer Damesek, who made the journey with his 10 fully-laden camels. “I must find a suitable wife here in Charan for my master’s son back in Canaan. He is no youngster. The clock is ticking and it’s now or never!”

As TNS goes to press, it appears that Mr. Damesek has successfully carried out his match-making mission, and marriage negotiations are underway.
