The Shlichus To Greet Moshiach

Dvar Malchus for Kids | December 08, 2025

Based on the Dvar Malchus of Shabbos Parshas Chayei Sarah, 5752

All of our good deeds and actions depend on that special shlichus which acts as a gateway through which all of our good deeds and actions go up to Hashem.

An example of the above thought would be when the Rebbe Harayatz sent off his shluchim to places that involved Jewish education for children and opening up chadorim everywhere, which involved misiras nefesh. Every Chassid that was mikushar to the Rebbe did his job energetically.

One of the Rebbe Harayatz's Chassidim was a person by the name of Itche the Masmid. He was a real beinoni. He would daven and learn like a Chassid. The Rebbe Harayatz told him, "If you are involved with Jewish education for children, you belong to me, and if not, you're still Itche, but it has nothing to do with me."

In order to be connected to the Rebbe, we have to carry out our shlichus. During the days that precede rosh chodesh kislev, shluchim from all over the world get together with our mishaleiach in 770. In a farbrengen given on Shabbos, the Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach Shlita discusses in a sicha what shlichus is all about, which in essence is main idea of the kinus.

The sicha we are about to learn was said at the kinus hashluchim in the year 5752. The kinus focused on the subject of "kol yimei chayecha lihavi yimos hamoshiach". The Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach Shlita explained at length unique things about our shlichus and how we can bring the Moshiach.

A special gate

The Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach Shlita first talked about the unique job that the shluchim now have, something new that never was until now – to greet Moshiach Tzidkeinu in the true and complete redemption!

In every generation we have to carry out the shlichus given to us by the Rebbe of that generation. All of our good deeds and actions depend on that special shlichus which acts as a gateway through which all of our good deeds and actions go up to Hashem.

Wherever they are. After forty years of avoda, starting from 5710, when the Rebbe first became Rebbe, until 5752, the shluchim reached every place imaginable and disseminated the wellsprings which in essence finishes and completes their avoda. After all this, Moshiach Tzidkeinu still hasn't come.

We have already completed the shlichus for the disseminating of the wellsprings of Chassidus. Now there has to be something special, a new kind of a shlichus that when set into motion will bring about the revelation of Moshiach in actuality mamash.

Moshiach has been revealed!

The Rebbe revealed to us that "...There is a Jew, a tzadik, in every generation who's worthy of being the Moshiach. He waits impatiently for the complete redemption. Today, after the shluchim have finished the avoda, Hashem appeared to him and instructed him to go out and redeem the Jewish nation..." That person is the Rebbe nisee doreinu who has been revealed as the Moshiach.

Until now the shluchim's job was to bring the Moshiach. Today, after the Moshiach has been revealed, our job is to greet him! All Jews around the world should know about the Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach and happily accept him as king and as a result he will do his job and redeem us right away.

"...In other words, all aspects of our shlichus, which includes the disseminating of the teachings of the Torah and Judaism in addition to the wellsprings of Chassidus to the farthest places, have to be imbued with one point, how this will lead us to greet Moshiach Tzidkeinu. Simply speaking, good decisions have to be made as a result of the kinus hashluchim. Every shliach has to make a plan and prepare the Jews in his locale and city, etc. to greet Moshiach Tzidkeinu. He should explain what Moshiach is all about based on the written and oral Torah in a presentable and easily understood manner, especially with matters of geulah and Moshiach. It should be understood with our chochma, bina, and daas.

This is our avoda for now and is applicable to every Jew without exception..."

The old shlichus is over

Our generation is special. Every Jew in our generation is a shliach of the Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach Shlita, and therefore it's possible and easy to explain to another Jew that it's not enough to get by on doing good things. Instead, every one should influence his friends wherever he/she is. In the past it wasn't like this. Many people thought that their own good deeds were enough. The Rebbe changed things and made us feel that we should feel responsible for others.

And so it was, the Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach Shlita sent Chassidim to disseminate the wellsprings of chassidus to the outside and to learn it wherever they are.

If we aren't connected to the Rebbe, we can still do a lot of good things like Itche did, but the gateway will remain closed.

The shlichus that the Rebbe gave us to carry out today is especially important, because we've already done the shlichus demanded of the previous generations. The buttons are already "polished" and "sparkling". The only thing that's left for us to do, something that's so basic and important in yiddishkite, is to greet Moshiach Tzidkeinu in actuality mamash!
