This week we learned that the nachash, the snake, represents the yetzer hara disguised in thoughts and surroundings, luring us away from where we are meant to be. By raising it on a pole—recognizing and exposing its tricks—we learn to fight back against the dimyon that the grass is greener elsewhere.
This week I will bli neder spend one minute each day reminding myself that my current life circumstances—my home, my family, my challenges—are exactly what Hashem chose for me. Instead of imagining better pastures elsewhere, I’ll say out loud: “Hashem put me right here for a reason—and here is where I can succeed.” Whether it’s at work, at home, or in the beis medrash, I will focus on the opportunities in front of me and reject the illusion that happiness or greatness lies somewhere else.
This week’s booklet is based on tapes:
95 - The Time is Now | 512 - In the Sea of Imagination
548 - Satan the Helper | 830 - The Copper Snake
