We Can Add to Perfection

G-d created a complete, perfect world. But he made it in a way that we can add even more perfection through our work. The perfection of the world as G-d created it is represented by the number seven – the seven days of creation, described in the Written Torah. The extra perfection that we add with our work is represented by the number ten – the ten utterances that G-d created the world by saying, as it says in the Oral Torah, which is discovered through our work in studying.
