Hashem Has Respect for The Ger Yasom And Almana Not for Yichus and Talents

Bitachon Weekly | December 31, 2025

RSRH says that Hashem isn’t impressed with Yichus and talents and Kishronos etc. He has respect for the Ger, Yasom, and Almana. This is so different than our Hashkafos, of being so impressed with all those “winners” and capable people, without appreciating and respecting the “nebachs”.

Every Yid Should View Himself as A Seed That Can Grow and Become Just Like the Avos

RSRH says that the Avos are called: עֲבָדֶי Hashem’s servants, because they were utterly obedient servants, with faithful adherence to duty. Their descendants were in an unbridled state with thoughtlessness. Moshe pleaded, and said that since the Avos were such pure, wonderful, and true: עֲבָדֶי servants of Hashem, their descendants should potentially also be this way.

Moshe begged Hashem to view the Aveiros of the children as temporary insanity, and they could someday develop into equally noble perfection. We see a new Hashkafa in Zechus Avos; it means that we have their potential greatness! Every Yid should view himself as a seed, that can grow and become just like the Avos.

Now we don’t view Zechus Avos like something beyond us. We are all tiny pieces of those unbelievable giants of the world. Every Yid should see in himself super greatness. And he should view even his worst shortcomings as just a passing situation. The REAL me is an Avraham, Yitzchok, and Yaakov! The next time we learn Sefer Breishis, with all those amazing Madregos of the Avos, we should realize who we really are.
