Shofar Sounds

The Shem Mishmuel tells us a deeper significance regarding the names of the sounds of the Shofar which are תקיעה, שברים, תרועה. תקיעה can be understood as to hang as in והוקענום לה', hang them. שברים can be translated as to smash as in שבר תשבר. תרועה also means to smash as in תרעם שבט ברזל, you will smash them with an iron rod. These three remove the three shells of impurity (klipos) of the heart.
