I know that a large percentage of you are on shlichus, and are burdened with the need of raising money for your own budgets. This fact is a source of great gratification to me and a source of pride to the Yeshiva. There are also a number of you (that becomes a smaller proportion every year) that are still bochurim, and who’s shlichus at this point doesn’t include being the financial supporters of mosdos.
But that still leaves a significant number who may have the ability to help out in some way. Even if you can’t give $50,000, you may be able to give $5,000. Or $500, or $50 or $5. As Chazal say “Kol prutah uprutah mitztarefes lecheshbon gadol”, every little bit helps, and brings us a step closer to realizing our goal.
And even those of you who are not at all in a position of being contributors at this point, may be able to forward this email to relatives, friends or acquaintances, and generate the help in that way.
These days are the days between 15 Ellul, the day of the establishment of Tomchei T’mimim, and Chai Ellul, the day that gives life into all aspects of Ellul. It is a fitting time to reflect on the chayus that you derived from your stay in Yeshiva, and to take advantage of the opportunity to give a bit back.
The Alter Rebbe – the baal Yom holedes of Chai Ellul said: “The Eibishter gives Yidden gashmiyus in order that they transform it into ruchnyus”. At this stage we need you all to help us increase our supply of gashmyus in Yeshiva, so that we can in turn utilize it to increase the ruchniyus!

L’chaim! May we all take proper advantage of these auspicious days to add in our chayus in all areas of Ellul, as they are alluded to in the various roshei teivos of the word Ellul, including the area of Tzedaka that is represented by the roshei teivos “Ish lere’eihu umatanos lo’evyonim”, and may the Eibishter take advantage of His presence in the field to remove our ability to fulfill this mitzvah, by causing money to become even less significant than it is now (if such a thing were conceivable), by ushering in immediately the era of “gelt vet zany on a shiur” when “Kol hamaadanim metzuyim ke’ofor” with the hisgalus of Moshiach Tzidkeinu TUMYM!!!
