Hashem Would Speak to Moshe Face to Face

The Ohr Hachaim explains the meaning behind this possuk. A person will only reach levels of spiritual and cleaving to Hashem according to how much he prepares himself for this experience.

The possuk writes in Mishlei כַמַי םִהַפ נ יםִלַפ נ יםִכֵןִ לֵבִה א ד םִל א ד ם - As water reflects a face, so a man's heart reflects the man. A person’s heart can tell if someone else loves or hates him, even if his conscious mind cannot figure it out. Another person will love or hate him according to how much he prepares to love his friend. Hashem connects to a person just like two friends, and He shows His love as a person prepares his heart to love Hashem.
