Amalek Only Has Power Over an Individual:
Rav Henoch of Alexander zy”a (quoted in Chashbah Tova) explains that the pasuk speaks about what Amalek did “to you” in the singular tense because Amalek can only harm a person who is separated from the general public. He can only hurt someone who is “lecha”, i.e., living solely for himself and on his own. However, if one is connected to other Yidden and is part of a tzibur, Amaleik cannot harm him.
