The end of the Parsha speaks about Amalek, who we must wipe out. Amalek loves destruction and war, the opposite of our love of “building”, and our peaceful: תּוֹמֵחַ לוֹמוֹשֵׁל תּוֹרָה fighting in learning. (RSRH). Chazal say that ever since the destruction of the Bais Hamikdash, the fruits (which symbolize productivity) no longer taste the same (and the Ta’am of marriage is also not the same. Gemara). The: שָׂעִיר לַה' goat for Hashem (corresponding to Yaakov) is brought inside the Bais Hamikdash (and not לַעֲזָאזֵל) since he symbolizes productivity.
It is also interesting that the Bais Hamikdash had a golden vineyard which “produced” fruits, and as soon as Menashe put a: צֶלֶם statue in the Heichal, the vineyard dried up and disappeared. (Yerushalmi).
