He expounded on the requirement of Jewish law to recite the Hagomel blessing after surviving mortal danger, illuminating it in his distinctive style, through Kabbalah and chasidut, a format of study that was entirely new to his audience. He then fielded questions on chasidut from the participants and tested the yeshivah students on the published talks of the Previous Rebbe.”
