May it be the will of HaShem that through engaging in this subject of Avodah in “Sanctifying yourself by refraining from that which is permitted to you”, we will come very soon to a time when as the Possuk states: וְאֶׁת־רוחַ הַטֻּמְאָה אַעֲבִיר מִן־הָאָרֶׁץ “The spirit of impurity I will remove from the earth”.
In other words, not only will there not be a spirit of impurity, but there will not even be anything which is susceptible to impurity (as the Mishneh expresses the difference in tractate Succah regarding the ‘Sechach’ of the ‘Succah’. That even something which is completely pure and is even permissible to be brought into the Beis Hamikdosh can nonetheless be unsuitable for ‘Sechach’ because it is susceptible to becoming impure).
And even before this [time] whilst still in exile ולְכָל־בְנֵּי יִשְרָאֵּל הָיָה אוֹר בְמוֹשְבֹתָם “For all the B’nei Yisroel there was light in their dwellings”. This is so because light is also something which is not susceptible to impurity as is brought down in the Talmud on the Possuk: הֲלוֹא כֹה דְבָרִי כָאֵּש “Is not My word so like fire?” because Fire does not contract impurity.
As a result of this ‘Avodah’ in a מַעֲלִין בַקוֹדֶׁש progressive manner starting with vows and thereafter, a ‘Chochom’ annuls the vow and then not only does it become permitted it becomes sanctified and holy, and so holy in fact that Hashem calls it a ‘Chatos’ offering. [So] that very soon in our days we will come to implement the instruction in the Possuk of: וְזָרַקְתִי עֲלֵּיכֶׁם מַיִם טְהוֹרִים וטְהַרְתֶׁם “And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you will be clean” to be on a level of מַיִם טְהוֹרִים the level of ‘Chossid’.
(This sprinkling is not a form of washing as the Possuk states: רָחַץ ה׳ “Hashem shall have washed away” as is known from a statement by the Frierdiker Rebbe who points out that in Tanya when the Alter Rebbe speaks of a merciful father hitting his child he does not call the man a ‘Chossid’ only a ‘Chochom’ and a ‘Tzaddik’).
