There is No Heter for Lashon Hara

The Chazon Ish zt”l once said in the name of the Chofetz Chaim zt”l that when a person comes to the World of Truth, and he is asked why he ate chodosh, he can excuse himself by saying that he relied on the opinion of the Bach that chodosh is permitted in current times (see Shulchan Aruch, Yoreh Deah 293:2). But when he is asked why he spoke lashon hara, he will have no answer, as even the Bach forbids lashon hara.
