This also explains the phraseology used עָּמַדְתָּ לָּהֶם .... רַבְתָּ אֶת רִיבָּם You stood by them ...You waged their wars, specifically that You 'Stood', the act of standing.
The difference between sitting and standing is obvious; that sitting is lowering and contracting so that the head of the one sitting down is lowered and descends lower etc., whereas whilst standing, the head is at full height and in this fashion (whilst the head is erect as it is) it also has an effect down to the feet. This is the concept of drawing down the ‘Mochin of Gadlus' broadmindedness (in the way that the intellectual attributes are by themselves).
And so too is it in the above realm, so to speak, 'Ravtoh Es Rivom' You waged their wars, that in order to wage the wars which is the battle with the 'Le’umas Zeh', there is a need for a greater Hamshocha ‘Omadetoh LoHem’ You ‘stood’ by them specifically in a manner of standing.
