The connection between kindling lights and victory at war

As we say in the Al Hanissim prayer: When the wicked Hellenic government rose up against your people Yisroel etc. (Hashem made a miracle) “You delivered the mighty into the hands of the weak” etc. And [they] then instituted these eight days of Chanukah to give thanks and prayer to Your great name.

This being so, why is the miracle commemorated with kindling lamps?

What [implicit] connection does kindling lights have to being victorious at war? And, even though there was a miracle with the cruse of oil, there were many miracles that did take place in the Beis Hamikdosh without there being commemorations for them;

Why not commemorate other miracles?

So the big miracle is not just about finding the cruse of oil but the miracle of the war where the small group of Chashmonoim won against the mighty Greek army. So why are we not making a big feast on Chanukah to celebrate the great miracle that Hashem did for us in winning this war? Like we make a feast on Purim.

1. They found the oil against all odds. 2. The small oil lasted for eight days.
