Chanukah means Mitzvos in this Maamor, and in Mitzvohs there is an idea of bringing Hashem into the world through an increase in the performance of Mitzvos. And in Mitzvos there is also the idea of purifying ourselves, subduing ourselves so that we can receive that light. And you do both of those things on Chanukah in the minutia of Mitzvos.

As Beis Shamai is more important than Beis Hillel. For maybe when we are being Jews on Chanukah and lighting our Chanukah lamps, which means doing Mitzvos, to bring Hashem’s light into this world and to subdue ourselves to receive that light, the latter might be more important than the former. The subduing, the judging and the evaluating and examining ourselves, maybe more important than bringing the light into our lives.
