The Three Womens Mitzvos

Living Moshiach | June 27, 2025

The name of the mother of the Rebbe King Moshiach Shlita, Rebbetzin Chanah, stands for Challah, Niddah and Hadlakas Haner – the three special Mitzvos on which the Jewish People depend, which were given to the Jewish women. Challah is taking off a piece of dough when baking (when we have a Beis Hamikdash (Holy Temple), we give it to a Kohen; otherwise we burn it) and making sure our family’s food is Kosher. Niddah is keeping the laws of family purity in marriage, including the wife immersing in a Kosher Mikvah when needed. Hadlakas Haner is lighting Shabbos and Yom Tov candles. Please consult your Orthodox rabbi and his wife for guidance on how to observe these Mitzvos properly.

With these Mitzvos, the Jewish women bring perfection to man, who is the “Challah, blood and candle” of the world (after what became lacking because of the sin of the Tree of Knowledge). The Jewish People were redeemed from Egypt in the merit of the Jewish women, and will be redeemed through Moshiach in the merit of the righteous women!
