Many Meforshim say that Noach wasn’t really supposed to be saved from the Mabul, but because he was: מָצָא חֵן בְּעֵינֵי ה' found favor in the eyes of Hashem, he was saved. (Radak, Gri”z, etc.). There are people who get special treatment even though they don’t deserve it, like a Baal Bitachon who is pulled out of Gehinom because of his Bitachon. (Ramchal). And the name “Noach” means Menucha and Bitachon; perhaps this is why he was: מָצָא חֵן found favor in the eyes of Hashem.
R' Dovid Bleicher Zatzal says that a Baal Bitachon is: מְקוּרָב לְמַלְכוּת a member of the royal palace, and therefore he gets special treatment. A certain boss was always firing his employees, except for a mediocre worker, who was indeed worse than his friends, but the boss likes him, and the boss needs a friend on the staff with whom to schmooze with. This is a Mashal to a Baal Bitachon, who is close to Hashem, and he is the luckiest person in the world.
