A person must be firm in his trust in Hashem and do so joyfully. For it is taught in Zohar (V2, P184,b) that this lower world in which we live receives its energy and sustenance from above. If down here the person acts with joy, then he is reciprocated in kind from the world above with light and with joy. It is written Ivdu es Hashem B’simcha! (Tehillim 100,2). When a person is happy down here, he draws upon himself happiness from above...
