In crockpot add apple slices made from 6 large firm red apples, 1/4 cup pure maple syrup, 1 1/4 tsp cornstarch, 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon and 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours (your house will smell amazing). Cool and refrigerate or serve warm with ice cream.
