1. In Parshas Noach (11:10) the Torah lists how many years Shem lived before giving birth to Arpachshad. In the next possuk, the Torah lists how many years he lived after he gave birth to Arpachshad. However, the Torah doesn’t list Shem’s total years—unlike the lists given at the end of Parshas Bereishis, where the total ages are also given. Why?

2. During which year and on which Shabbos did the Rebbe begin explaining Rashi on Chumash?

3. In Rashi on Bava Basra (4b–5a), you will often find the roshei teivos תמ"ש. What does this stand for?

4. Why is Yaaleh Veyavo said specifically during the brachah of Retzei in Shemoneh Esrei?

5. Why do we eat gefilte fish on Shabbos (as opposed to regular fish)?

6. Many old sefarim have a list of “prenumeranten” printed inside. What does this mean?

7. When did the Rebbe begin the takanah to learn Rambam every day?

8. List three sefarim the Rambam authored, besides the Yad Hachazakah.

9. Before every set of halachos, the Rambam writes which mitzvas (or mitzvos) asei or lo saaseh these halachos are coming to explain. Which sets of halachos do not explain a mitzvah, neither d’oraysa nor d’rabanan?

10. In which language did the Rambam write Sefer Hamitzvos?

11. Which part of the human body has changed since Noach was born? (ילקוט ראובני בשם מדרש אבכיר)

12. What is the connection between eating fish on Friday night and the mabul? (מטעמים החדש ערך דגים)

13. Do the name Noach and Menachem come from the same root word? (רש"י בראשית ה, כט)
