This week we read an extra section from the Torah, Parshas Hachodesh, in addition to the reading of the weekly Torah portion. The extra reading talks about the month of Nissan and the holiday of Passover. It ends with the verse that says, “in all your dwellings you shall eat Matzos.” This represents the nullifying of all negative things that come from the evil inclination, which is called Chametz (leaven). Not only in Jerusalem – which represents perfect fear of G-d (Yerushalayim-Jerusalem is like the words “Yirah Shalem”-“perfect fear”) – but also “in all your dwellings”, there remains only “Matzos”, as it says about the Redemption through Moshiach that G-d will take away the spirit of impurity – the evil inclination – from the earth.
