Yet according to what we have established above we can say that when we say in Chodesh Elul that the Avodah relies on a person’s input first with an Issarusa Dil’Tatoh and only afterwards is one reciprocated with an Issarusa Dil’Eilah, that is [only] when one is referring to the system as it is within the confinement and parameters of the ‘Seder Hishtalshelus’. (It is because of these limitations that the B’nei Yisroel are only extended a state of ‘vision’ as mentioned above). However, when operating from the perspective of ‘beyond the confines and parameters’ of the ‘Seder Hishtalshelus’, then, on the contrary, the impetus for the Avodah of אֲנִי לְדוֹדִי comes from the lofty Divine level of אָנֹכִי מִי שֶׁאָנֹכִי which transcends the state of דוֹדִי. And this ‘Koach’ is given [specifically] in the month of Elul and given generously.
It is only as result of this ‘Ko’ach’ that one can thereafter draw down an Issarusa Dil’Eilah that was triggered by one’s own Issarusa Dil’Tatoh which is the reciprocation of וְדוֹדִי לִי. Furthermore, one is then even extended a Hamshocha as an Issarusa Dil’Eilah which surpasses the sort of Issarusa Dil’Eilah that one normally receives that is triggered by his Issarusa Dil’Tatoh.
Perfection and Divine Inspiration
It is about this that the Zohar says that Hakodosh Boruch Hu will only dwell in a place which is complete. In other words this Divine inspiration cannot be drawn or triggered by a person’s efforts, only when there is perfection in a person’s efforts and in the Hamshocha that is given to him as a result, with which one makes the ‘place complete’ and then (without a prompt) a Hamshocha is extended which is higher than both of them.
As is explained in Likkutei Torah, that there is an advantage to the arousal from above which is drawn down by an arousal from below, and there is an advantage in an arousal from above which is extended down from itself, and not triggered from below. But then there is a third level which is greater than both the arousal triggered from below and the arousal straight from above and that is: “An arousal from above which is far superior to any arousal from below, such that an arousal from below cannot even reach at all... but nevertheless, it only ever shines and dwells when there is perfection in one’s Avodah below post a divine arousal from above which was triggered by his self-inspired efforts, only then will this lofty superior arousal from above that is completely out of reach of his efforts descend, shine and dwell in a revealed sense below.
As has been explained elsewhere in connection with what the Medrash says on the Possuk in Shir Hashirim (2:5) אֲנִי יְּשֵנָה וְּלִבִי עֵר קוֹל דוֹדִי דוֹפֵק פִתְּחִי־לִי “I sleep, but my heart is awake. Hark! My beloved is knocking: Open for me” and the Medrash says that Hashem says open for me the size of the eye of a needle and in return I will open for you the opening of a wedding hall.
May we all truly merit to fully internalise all the subjects discussed at hand, bring them down into action and succeed in the ultimate Hamshocha, the revelation we are all waiting for, that of the coming Moshiach speedily in our days!
