“Forging” Ahead

Havineini | June 20, 2025

It happened that my family and I were traveling between countries when we realized that one of the children didn’t have a ticket. We got in touch with the travel agent, who told us that there were no more tickets available. The clock was ticking... and there was no solution in sight. In the end, they told us that a ticket could be purchased, but there was one problem: If we waited in the check-in area until the ticket was ready, we wouldn’t make it to the gate on time. The only solution was to create a forged ticket for this child, using it to get through security, and by the time we arrived at the gate, the ticket would be in order. This is what we did, and everything worked out, baruch Hashem.

We learned an incredible lesson that day—and it applies to all of us. Many people stand and wait.... “If I am not completely in order, there is nothing for me to do... I am waiting....” The problem is that if you don’t move forward now, you will miss the flight! And you have a very long distance to travel....

Thus, a person must know that HaKadosh Baruch Hu will certainly help him, for ...אותו מסעיין ליטהר הבא and with this in mind, I am moving forward. The “obstacle” that stands in his way is only temporary... and thus should not interfere with his life... because HaKadosh Baruch Hu will resolve it for him.

This is the way it is with everything. For example: A person is lacking in areas of kedushah... he is mamash in the lowest place when it comes to kedushah. He knows that his learning and davening aren’t worth much, for he is distant from the Ribbono shel Olam—and he searches for ways to emerge from the soot. He must know that he can’t do this on his own. But if he will proceed in his avodas Hashem as though he has already emerged—davening and learning with fervor and zeal, just as though everything has already been resolved (and it will be hard, for it is hard to live a lie)—the Torah and tefillah will slowly begin to heal him. He will be considered אותו, מסעיין ליטהר הבא he will be assisted from Above.
