In this week's parsha, we are commanded to appoint judges and officers in all our gates, in every city and tribe. The Torah emphasizes the importance of justice and the need for a fair and honest judicial system. The judges are to judge the people with righteousness, and the officers are to enforce the rulings of the judges.

The Sanhedrin, the highest court, sat in the Chamber of Hewn Stone (Lishkat HaGazit) in the Beis Hamikdash. From there, they would issue rulings and guide the nation in matters of Torah and law.
