Later on, the pasuk says that if a person has a Tzaras affliction on his house, he comes to the Kohan. Why one place he is brought and one place he comes? The Gemarah says that these Tzaras afflictions come as a result of various sins and transgression that a person does.
Hashem in His mercy, first afflicts a person’s home and possessions - only afterward - if a person doesn’t repent and change his ways - does it affect next his clothing and then his body as well.
The Torah is hinting to us - if someone’s house and possessions are affected - come to the Kohan - to figure out what you are doing wrong - if not you might be putting yourself in a position of being brought to the Kohan. (Shema Shlomo)
