This week in....

In 1955–5715, the Rebbe wrote to an American rabbi, encouraging him to maximize the opportunity that came his way when young community members expressed interest in improving the mechitza of their synagogue. The Rebbe wrote that expanding the partition to meet the halachic requirements would have a positive impact on the community, and he praised the American youth, who despite the darkness of the times, remain inclined towards Jewish observance.
