Every Jew is Gold

Dvar Malchus for Kids | December 10, 2025

Based on the Dvar Malchus of the Shabbos Parshas Trumah 5752

"Pintele Yid" is within each and every one of us, so it doesn't really matter how others see us. Since Hashem gave us the Torah, all of us really want to do what Hashem wants. We naturally feel that way, because we are Jewish. This will and desire always exists no matter what.

When Hashem wanted to join the spiritual with our physical world, He chose us to do the job. Only a Jew, in this world, who is always connected to Hashem, is capable of joining the spiritual with this physical world, thereby preparing and making a dwelling place for Hashem. Each and every one of us is always connected to Hashem. As a result, every Jew can take part in the building of the Mishkan.

Similarly, when the Torah tells us what the Jews contributed towards the building of the Mishkan, it first mentions gold, even though it's the most uncommon of all those things that were brought. Gold is the most precious of all the metals. The Torah here emphasizes that a Jew has a special kind of spiritual and physical connection to gold,

The question

In Parshas Trumah Hashem commands us "...And they will make for me a sanctuary and I will dwell in them..." Everyone participated in the mitzvah, including children. All of them gave of their money towards the building of the Mishkan.

A brand new Mishkan, a place in our world where Hashem Himself with His glory would make His home. Hashem wouldn't reveal Himself in the upper worlds such as in Atzilus as He would in the Mishkan here in this world. It would seemingly be more correct to have the most important and honorable people involved in the building of the Mishkan, such as rabonim and tzadikim. Why then did the Torah involve all of us in its building, including children and even bad people?

The explanation

Hashem chose us to be His nation when He gave us the Torah. Such a choice would imply that we are always connected to Him, regardless of the situation.

Now especially, in the time of redemption, vast riches await each and every one of us just as when we left Egypt. We have to just try to reveal our wealth. We have to try to be rich spiritually, by learning more Torah and performing more mitzvos, and to be rich begashmiyus, to acquire a lot of silver and gold, in order that we should be able to do mitzvos in the most beautiful way possible and with our minds at ease, not having to worry about anything.

The Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach Shlita instructed us "...To build the third Beis Hamikdash, literally, as the Rambam says that it will be built by Moshiach Tzidkeinu, "...And he built it in its place..." and "...Everyone has to take part in the building (of the Beis Hamikdash) and to celebrate with a big meal and with their money, men and women as was done with the Mikdash in the desert. The same should be with the third Beis Hasmikdash. A Jew should give of his money - men, women, and children."

Now is the time to build the Beis Hamikdash! We cannot actually do it. The Melech Hamoshiach will do so. In the meantime, we can help out and share in the contributions toward the Beis Hamikdash regardless of his current situation.

Happiness in the month of Adar

This is the connection between Parshas Trumah and the month of Adar, the month that turned into a happy month.

The greatest happiness a Jew can experience is when he knows that regardless of his situation, he is Hashem's one and only child who deserves only the best.

"When a Jew contemplates the above, he becomes very happy. Happiness changes his whole being. Happiness is something that acts on and changes a person's life. When a person is happy, he lives a happy life. Happiness affects everything that he does and everyone he comes in contact with. All those around him also become happy. When he is happy, he becomes successful in all that he does, something that all of us can see for ourselves."

Tachlis

The Rebbe Shlita Melech Hamoshiach said that every Jew is rich, not potentially, but really!

Some people still have to invest a little effort to reveal this. Whoever doesn't see this yet should know that big treasures and blessings are in store for him.

"...Especially in this generation when we educated and accustomed little Jewish children, and continue to do so, to give tzedoko. In addition to making them shluchim to do a mitzvah, we also give them money which becomes their own, in order that they should give of their own money for tzedoko..."

The Rebbe also told us that we should be happier from day to day in the month of Adar, in addition to making others happy.

Furthermore, we should in this month add in our Torah study and performance of mitzvos, something that gives us more spiritual happiness, causing Hashem to send us more gashmiyus, things that will make us happy. We should also make others happy with the gashmiyus Hashem gives us.

We should continue from the happy month of Adar on to the biggest happiness ever, the happiness we will experience in the true and complete redemption, immediately, ממש.
