Why did Esther insist that they fast on Pesach and not wait at least till after Yom Tov? The Tiferes Shlomah explains: According to the Zohar (Shemos 40b), Hashem looks forward with anticipation to the Yom Tov of Pesach, and His Shechinah personally comes to witness the Jews sitting at the seder table and expressing their love for Him.
Esther planned that because of the vacuum they would create by forgoing proper observance of the seder night, Hashem would realize what He would be missing by permitting the annihilation, chas vesholam, of the Jewish people. He would thus come to their rescue and miraculously save them from Haman’s evil plans.
