Finding the Sefer that Draws us Closer to Hashem
So, how do we decide which one(s) to learn? The answer is very simple: the sefer that pulls us in and draws us closer to Hashem. As we mentioned before, every sefer has a unique seichel that reveals a specific aspect of Hashem and the Torah. So too, each one of us has a unique seichel and way of seeing the world that no one else has. Each one of us has particular approach to avodas Hashem that is different than everyone else.
Therefore, in order to find our true path in this world, it is important for us to go through the sefarim that speak to us. Certainly, it is good to learn all the sefarim we can. However, in addition to the main sefarim that everyone should learn, our focus should be on connecting to the sefarim that ignite a spark in our neshamos and inspire us to serve Hashem better. Each one of us has specific sefarim that we like more than others. Each one of us has particular sefarim that he gets more out of than others. The reason that we like these sefarim is that their seichel is related to ours, or perhaps it is the special tikkun for our seichel. Therefore, when we find such a sefer, we know that this is one of the sefarim that we should learn along with our main obligations.
