Historic Blessing Transfer

The Parsha Post | December 31, 2025

The elderly Rabbi Yitzchak Abramson was about to grant the special blessings that he had inherited from his father. This package includes heavenly dew, rain, grain, fine wine, and becoming a powerful ruler.

Popular opinion was that the Firstborn Eisav (a.k.a. Harry) would receive these blessings, yet in a surprise move, Yitzchok granted them to Eisav’s younger brother, Yaakov. Foul play is suspected.

“Clearly, Yaakov tricked his father into giving him the blessing, which seems entirely out of character for Yaakov, who always seemed more interested in his books than blessings,” noted TNS commentator, Mr. Sammy Shazakstein. “Yaakov appears to have won the blessing now, but who knows what the future will bring.”
