Today, 47 years ago (in 5738), the Rebbe returned home for the first time after the heart attack. Chassidim mark this day with rejoicing and farbrengens. For more on Rosh Chodesh Kislev, visit http://www.chabad.org/k17982.

“Hashem has not given you a heart to understand, eyes to see, and ears to hear until this day” (Devarim 29:3). From here we learn that a person does not understand the depth of his master’s teachings until forty years have passed (Avodah Zarah 5b).
