Segulos for Parshas Toldos
The Power Of Prayers And Tears
“Esav wept” (27:38).
The Segulos Yisrael teaches us (Tefilla 34) that it is a great segula for our prayers to be accepted if we pray and shed tears and cry. He cites the Zohar (VaYechi 223): any person who sheds tears before Hashem, even if a gezeira was decreed against him, it will be nullified and canceled and no punishment has any power over him. Zohar ibid 288 has also stated: no gate can stand sealed before tears. Chazal also said that all gates have been sealed except for the gates of tears. Zohar Shemos 20a says that He who prays and cries out to the point where he can no longer produce a sound from his lips, his prayer is fulfilled and complete in his heart and can never go unanswered; great is such a cry, for it can cancel a decree and nullify an edict against a person for his entire life and all his days.
