The pasuk in Tehillim (39:8) states: “And now, what have I hoped, Hashem? My hope to You is...” Sefer Sifsei Tzadikim quotes the Rebbe Rav Zushe zy”a as explaining that one who prays for parnassah has to contend with prosecuting forces that try to obstruct his request. However, if one davens for bitachon, no forces stand in his way. And once one’s tefillah for bitachon is granted, he will have everything he needs, as everything is included in bitachon.
Thus, the pasuk is saying: “And now, what have I hoped, Hashem?” If one’s entire hope is to trust in Hashem, then “my hope to You is” – everything one hopes for and desires will be granted.
