Cloves, popularly known to us as besamim, contain a type of oil that relieves pain and causes numbness. It can be used to treat toothaches. The pigment that gives saffron its bright color has been shown to have antidepressant properties. Cinnamon serves as an antimicrobial, slowing the spread of bacteria and fungi. It can also help regulate blood sugar levels. Last but not least, myrrh, which comes from tree resin, may have the potential to fight cancer, as studies show that it can induce cell death in cancer cells.
