Making Changes in a Normal Way

The Rebbe's Pharmacy | December 31, 2025

So, instead, Rebbe Nachman says we should go step by step in a very settled way. We should try to increase the amount of avodas Hashem that we do every day while keeping a sense of pattern that works for us. We should make changes in a normal way. In other words, we should make a new schedule that we can accomplish, always leaving extra time for unexpected things. Perhaps, we can take upon ourselves to learn mishnayos for ten minutes, or maybe half an hour to learn Shulchan Aruch and go more deeply, or maybe fifteen minutes of sefer on chassidus on the side – all with zerizus and yishuv hadaas.

Then, over time, we will finish everything. Even if we only do a small amount of a sefer and twenty minutes of hisbodedus every day, with time, we will finish the sefer and build a deep personal connection to Hashem. Over the course of a decade, we will accomplish a tremendous amount of learning and davening, since we go quickly and calmly.
