The Shevatim Were Shown The Greatness of Yosef:
The Medrash (Bereishis Rabbah 84:17) relates that it was not the norm for Arab merchants to carry spices. They usually transport foul smelling items. Hashem orchestrated for them to be carrying spices so that Yosef Hatzadik should not have to smell something foul.
The Medrash uses the words: “Look what Hashem prepared for the tzadik!”
The Imrei Emes zy”a (quoted in Sefer Likutei Yehuda) explains that this referring to the Shevatim. Hashem prepared this for their sake – so that they would see how much He loves Yosef, to the extent of orchestrating a miracle so that he would not be subjected to a bad smell.
