The Superiority of Tikkun and the Divine Choice of Yaakov

And this is אֵלֶּה תֹּלְדוֹת יַעֲקֹּב יוֹסֵף the answer to Yaakov's fear of Eisov's chieftains when he said “who can conquer all of them?” since the might of the chieftains of Eisov is only externally from the perspective of the 'Seder Hishtalshelus' where 'Tohu' comes before 'Tikkun'.

However, when there exists the combination of תֹּלְדוֹת יַעֲקֹּב יוֹסֵף, where the state of 'Yaakov' representing the world of 'Tikkun' is extended below into the spiritual worlds of 'Briyah, Yetzirah and Asiyah' through 'Yosef', then a spark goes out from Yosef and consumes and burns all of them - meaning that the external element of Eisov through which he reveals his inner dimension is annihilated which is the Divine spark from the state of 'Tohu' and he refines it, purifies it, rectifies it and elevates it to its source and root. This is because in the inner dimension of things, 'Tikun' is rooted in a spiritually higher place than 'Tohu', and therefore specifically וָאֹהַב אֶת יַעֲקֹב “And I Loved Yaakov”.

The Connection to Yud Tes Kislev and Divine Choice

We can add and point out that the matter of וָאֹהַב אֶת יַעֲקֹב is also connected with celebration of redemption of 'Yud Tes' Kislev, which is 'Rosh Hashonoh' for the Torah of 'Chassidus'. The 'Words of the living G-d'. For we find that our leaders, our Rebbeim of Chabad, mention the issue of וָאֹהַב אֶת יַעֲקֹב in the Chassidic discourses of 'Rosh Hashonoh' (The Rosh Hashonoh which is not just for the Torah of Chassidus but for all matters specifically for the worlds etc.) and that is because on ‘Rosh Hashonoh’ there needs to be the concept of ׳וֹיִבְחַר לָנוּ אֶת נַחֲלָתֵנוּ אֶת גְאוֹן יַעֲקֹב ג He chooses our inheritance for us, the pride of Yaakov etc.'

Free choice is only a free choice when choosing between two identical things, and one of them is chosen not for any logical reason or other external factor (for then it would not be a choice). However, with free choice which is what the Possuk is referring to when it says: הֲלוֹא אָח עֵשָו לְיַעֲקֹב “is Eisov not a brother to Yaakov” and nevertheless וָאֹהַב אֶת יַעֲקֹב “I loved Yaakov” specifically for this is the choice in Yisroel.
