Rav Chizkiya Mordechai Basan

Rav Chizkiya Mordechai was the son of Rav Shmuel Chaim Basan, and served as Rav of Verona, Italy.

He was the Rebbe of Rav Yeshaya Basan, who was the Rebbe of Rav Moshe Chaim Luzzatto, the Ramchal, famed mechaber of Mesillas Yeshorim and other seforim.

He authored Michtav Chizkiyohu on Seder Gittin and Maamar Mordechai on Seder Chalitza; both were published by his great-grandson Rav Menachem Navaro, in his sefer Pnei Yitzchok (Mantuba 5504).

He also authored Bikkurim, a sefer containing tefillos and minhogim, prayers and customs for bikkur cholim, along with Iggeres HaMussar for that chevra.
