Rav Yehuda Aryeh Leib Kalish RLeib Kalish

Rav Yehuda Arye Leib was the son of Rav Dovid, a descendant of Rav Yoel Sirkis (mechaber of Bach on the Tur) and Rav Avrohom Chaim Shor (mechaber of Toras Chaim). He served as the Rav in several kehillos in Poland: twenty-two years as Rav of Lovzhentz, as well as Kramzhir and Kalisch.

In his final years he served a short stint for a year and a half as Rav in Amsterdam.

He authored a commentary on the Torah Gur Arye deroshos and some of his chiddushim on aggodos HaShas were published by the publisher of Rav Shlomo Algazi’s Shema Shlomo.
