Yaakov is all out for Davka marrying Rochel, and he specified: רָחֵּל בִּתְךָ הַקְטַנָה (29:18) “Rochel, your younger daughter”, to be double sure that he doesn’t get tricked by Lavan. (Rashi). And he also gives special Simanim that only Rochel knows (Rashi) so he is totally protected and guaranteed to get Rochel and not Leah. And in the end... it’s Leah! Surprise! Surprise! What a cruel, practical, sadistic, joke! R' Chatzkel Levenstein Zatzal points out how Yaakov doesn’t even get upset, and he just asks (without: וַיִּחַר אַף anger) לָמָה רִ מִיתָנִי why did you trick me?
Even this question, is just to “go through the motions” of asking an obvious question, but without getting excited at all. R' Chatzkel Zatzal says that by Yaakov there was no Rochel or Leah or Lavan or anything, since everything was Min HaShamayim and all L'tovah.
