Then Yehudoh approached him etc.: (44:18)
Yehudoh is a Loshon (language) of thankfulness. For as a Yid stands in Tefilloh (prayer), the Tefilloh must approach upwards encircled in thankfulness that he was Zoche (merited) to be Mispallel before Hashem.
Beis Aharon – Rav Aharon Karliner ZY”A
Then Yehudoh approached him... (44:18)
Hagoshoh (approaching), is a language of Tefilloh. As a Yid approaches to Daven in front of Hashem Yisborach, and he will say “Bi Adoni”, it is incumbent on him to beg and request before HaKodosh Boruch Hu, that in a time he will say a word of Kedushoh (holiness), it should internalize in him the rulership of Hashem Yisborach, and he should feel within the words that he is speaking in front of the Ruler of the whole world. Etc.
Sefer Divrei Shmuel – Slonim
Approaching is only for Tefilla. The Tefilla of a Yid must be not on his personal pain, rather on the pain of the Shechinoh.
Bi Adoni – Please, my master
My pain is for your pain, since you, The Shechinoh are in my hardships.
Baal Shem Tov - Sefer Pninei HaTorah
And now, be not distressed... (45:5)
The Yenukoh, Rav Yisroel of Stolin ZY”A said, “Previously, the Baal Dovor (yetzer hora) had to deal with each issue (of Aveiros) separately (to make a stumble before a Yid). Today, he found an easier way, specifically that he does not allow Simcha - happiness, and through that he leads to everything (all evilness)”.
Kisvei Reb Menashe HaKohen Rosenfeld Z”L - Mateh Aharon
And now, be not distressed... (45:5)
Vi’atoh is a language of Teshuvoh - repentance - [Bereishis Rabboh 21.] Yosef was Miramez - hinted to his brothers that it is incumbent on them to do Teshuvoh. Only with the condition that it is not done out of Atzvus - distress, only through Simcha - happiness.
The Sabah Kadishoh of Slonim - Sefer Toras Avos
My son Yosef is still alive... (47:28)
The great Happiness of Yaakov Avienu was not that Yosef Hatzadik was ruler of Eretz Mitzrayim (land of Egypt). Rather it was that my son is alive, that it did not die by him the צלם אלקים (Divine Image) and he was before. As it is known that the righteous men that have not blemished are called Chai - Alive.
Sefer Divrei Shmuel - Slonim
...coming to Mitzrayim (46:6)
Rashi explains, on the action of the time they are called coming. One may ask that in the beginning of Shemos it is also written - they are also called coming. Therefore, we must say that it is because the whole time that they were in Mitzrayim they did not learn anything from the place and they stayed on their level of Ruchnius (spirituality), as if they had just arrived. Therefore, even when they were in Mitzrayim for a prolonged time, they are called “Boyim – coming”, as if they have just arrived.
Sefer Dorash Moshe - Rav Moshe Feinstein ZY”A
