We still need an overall understanding within the context of the narrative of Yehudah approaching Yosef because the Possuk enumerates all the words of Yehudah to Yosef; all that Yehudah said to Yosef; סא יְדַבֶר נָא עַבְדְךָ דָבָר בְאָזְנֵי אֲדֹנִּי “Let now your servant speak something into my lord's ears”, and Rashi explains סב the words “Let my words enter your ears”, and thereafter Yehudah tells Yosef all the details of the story which had occurred to them up to that time. For seemingly we can ask; why did the Torah stretch out all the details of all these occurrences? סג Furthermore, after Yehudah’s words to Yosef the Possuk says: סד וְלֹא יָכֹל יוֹסֵף לְהִּתְאַפֵק “Yosef was not able to contain himself” סה implying that this was as a result of Yehudah’s words.
Seemingly most of what Yehudah said to Yosef, סו Yosef knew already from before, because most of his words were a repetition of events that had occurred earlier. If so, how did Yehuda cause סז such a change in Yosef that Yosef was not able to contain himself? סח
