Purim

Living Moshiach | June 27, 2025

This Motza’ei Shabbos (Saturday night, March 23) and Sunday (March 24), is Purim!

Since Purim starts right after Shabbos this year, we have to remember not to make any preparations for Purim while it is still Shabbos – we have to wait until Shabbos is over.

There are four Mitzvos to make sure to do for Purim:

  1. Hearing the reading of the Megillah in the night and also again during the day – two times.
  2. Giving a monetary gift to at least two poor people – one gift to each one.
  3. Sending portions of food to friends – a package including at least two different types of food to at least one friend (men/boys to men/boys and women/girls to women/girls).
  4. Eating a festive meal.

Make sure the kids do the Mitzvos too!
