The Empowerment of the Physical: Leimor and the Voice Within

This is true with regards to the worlds in general that Hashem chooses the lowest of all the worlds and this is also true with regards to this world itself that Hashem extends his ‘Atzmus’ into the most simple of things within this world.

It can be said that this is also why at ‘Matan Torah’ the Torah says: “Hashem spoke all of these things Leimor” that the word ‘Leimor’ here means: “in order that they shall say”, that the actual physical materialism and the very created beings of the lower realm itself will themselves become ‘Sayers’, meaning that their very existence itself is the cause that brought Hashem’s ‘Atzmus’ down here into this world.

In other words, the reason why Hashem’s ‘Atzmus’ is drawn down into the actual physical materialism and the created beings of the lower realm is because they are the created beings of the lower realm and the actual physical materialism itself.

And this is the meaning of the Possuk when it says: וְכָל־הָעָם רֹאִים גוֹ' וַיַרְא הָעָם וַיָנֻעוּ וַיַעַמְדוּ מֵֵֽרָחֹק “All the people saw etc, and the people saw and trembled; so they stood from afar” which resembled a receptacle so as to be able to draw down G-dliness.

Atzmus is speaking from inside the people of the lower realm and from the physical materialism itself like a ‘Preacher’ whose opinions originate from within himself. In other words, in this context this would mean that people of the lower realm or in fact the physical materialism itself senses the light of Hashem’s holy Atzmus Shinning through it, to the extent that their thinking and feelings are naturally aligned with G-dliness, consequently their natural speech and actions are completely aligned with Atzmus.

With this we can explain the words of the ‘Yalkut’ earlier that said: “when Hashem said the Aseres Hadibros each Jew said that Hashem was talking directly to him personally”, that each Jew felt in his own soul how Hashem was permeating him and infusing him with the inspiration personally, and the source of this inspiration is Hashem’s ‘Atzmus’. In other words, Hashem’s Atzmus spoke from within the inside of each person. Where a normal voice comes from the outside in and so each person feels the voice came from somewhere else. Here, Hashem’s Atzmus is inside each Jew and so each Jew feels that the voice is coming from within him.
